Minerva was born at Blommeröd Arabian Stud in Sweden in 1976. She was one of the most treasured broodmatrons at Slängsboda Arabians from 1980 until she passed away in 2002. Minerva was a very typey mare with a sweet disposition and a great broodmatron. She raised brave foals with great self confidence and charisma. She was the mother of Minina (by Gokart), who won her class as a yearling with 91 points. Minerva is also the grandmother of the brown Mystawa (1985, out of Mystika by Algomej) who is a double Junior Champion Mare.
Minerva's sire is the Polish-bred Algier, who served as a circus stallion at Circus Knie in Switzerland for several years before located by Erik Erlandsson amongst a number of other valuable stallions and brought to Sweden. Algier has sired celebrities such as the stallions Rusazcie and Maligg. Minerva's mother, the beautiful Mimikra, was born in Poland and imported to Sweden as two year old. She became Swedish National Champion Mare in 1970.
