Algier was born at Nowy Dwór in Poland in 1953. At an early age he was sold together with eight other stallions to Circus Knie in Switzerland where they performed for many years. In 1972 Eric Erlandsson located Algier and the other stallions and shipped them to Sweden. They where then between 18 and 22 years old. They had been exported from Poland without registration papers, but as they where branded Eric Erlandsson was able to get the necessary forms.
Algier was used in the breeding program at the famous Blommeröd Arabstuteri in Sweden. He is the sire of many excellent offspring in Sweden.
Algier sired the breeding stallions Rusazcie (1974), Atlas (1975), Maligg (1977), R.D. Misha (1978) and Bogardt (1978). He also sired the lovely mares Minerva (1976) and Salamalaika (1976). Algier sired 52 offsprings in Sweden, many of them exported to the U.S.A., one to Norway and one to France.
